Doing Big Things- Our CEO Grayson Lafrenz
by •
One thing we always say here at Power Digital Marketing is to never be the smartest person in the room. What does that mean exactly? It means that you should always take the opportunity to learn from those around you and constantly challenge yourself to be better, never the best. At Power Digital, however, we are lucky to get to work with one of the smartest guys in the room every single day. This guy is our fearless leader and CEO- Grayson Lafrenz.
Aside from his employee’s admirable views on him, Grayson has officially been announced as a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2019 Award in San Diego. Widely considered one of the most prestigious business awards programs in the U.S., this program recognizes entrepreneurs and leaders of high-growth companies who are excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities, while also transforming our world. The award winner will be announced at a special black-tie gala on June 6 at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar.
To say we are proud is an understatement. So how did Grayson get to be a top 16 finalist out of nearly 100 impressive nominees? Well, his success over the past 6 years is largely attributed to the facets below that Grayson has truly mastered:
Company Culture + Fostering a Learning Environment
At Power Digital Marketing, each employee is encouraged to embrace his mentality by having a strategic vision, making executive decisions, and working autonomously. This empowerment is a driving force behind our 95%+ employee retention rate (pretty impressive if you ask us). Outside of the office, Grayson believes it is super important to foster friendly and collaborative relationships among employees. Each year the top-performing team members embark on an all-inclusive President’s Club trip. At the beginning of each year, the executive team sets aggressive goals for the agency, and each employee strives to hit these goals throughout the year. Past President’s Club trip destinations have included Hawaii, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and more – Jealous much?
Company Growth + Scaling a Business
Last year, Power Digital’s revenue grew 35%, and the workforce also increased by 35%. However, even with this success, he maintains the attitude that “what got us here, won’t get us there.” Recently, he took one of the most significant risks in company history by partnering with a private equity firm that has invested significant capital in Power Digital to become a platform company in which it will begin to make strategic acquisitions to augment the company’s growth.
There are definitely a lot of reasons companies and employees admire their CEO, but for us, it’s pretty simple. He genuinely cares about his employees and has created an environment where everyone is encouraged to not only be an expert in their skill set but to expand their knowledge to other areas as well.
So, here’s to the smartest guy in the room! You know who we are cheering for.
