Public Relations Account Manager

About the Role

The Public Relations Account Manager is responsible for leading public relations strategies and execution on all types of PR and Influencer client accounts as well as serving as the main point of contact on client accounts within the PR department and complementary services. The Account Manager leads teams by proactively assessing the needs of his/her clients and fellow team members and putting together strategic plans to set an organized cadence for completing tasks. This person should be able to efficiently execute media results that move the needle for clients. 

 

Focal Areas

  1. Maintain high rates of client satisfaction and manage overall health of PR and Influencer accounts
  2. Account Manage PR client accounts and complementary cross-channel clients as main point of contact leading client communication, reporting, and maintaining high rates of client satisfaction
  3. Responsible for managing media pitching workflow with full account team and driving results for client roster

Responsibilities

  • Serve as resident expert on PR and Influencer client accounts
  • Serve as the Account Manager and day-to-day contact for various clients, ensuring strategy is moving forward and deadlines are met
  • Implement comprehensive strategy and plan for all account activities
  • Communicates “big picture” logistics and tactics to teams & clients
  • Has a firm understanding of client budgets and KPIs
  • Leverages deep rooted relationships to garner top tier feature stories
  • Conducts media training with clients and team members
  • In the weeds pitching when client account team support is needed
  • Leads, manages, and holds account teams accountable to deliverables and goals
  • Contributes new ideas to better the overall performance and efficiency of the agency
  • Leads creative brainstorms and inspires collaboration
  • Additional responsibility may include managing part time and full time team members
  • Closes the loop on assignments and notify team members when action items are complete
  • Maintains positive client relationships which contribute to the overall revenue growth of the company

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of client-facing media relations experience 
    • CPG Media Relations experience highly recommended but not required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of leading account strategy development and team workflow as an Account Manager or Account Supervisor for PR clients 
  • Extremely strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills for both client and internal communication
  • 1+ year of Management experience with direct reports recommended but not required
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Passion for Public Relations with a keen creative eye
  • Passion for supporting in team growth and development
